"Of course," Hirsch replied; he had been ready for war even since he was sixteen, ever since he had signed up to be a rebel. The man's eyes suddenly took on a distant look.
"I...w-what are you talking about?" The young Hirsch stammered, running his fingers nervously through his hair as the massive man before him smirked.
"Shifters, young Hirsch."
"How do you know my name?"
Panic had set in; the sound was like a drug to the other man and he chuckled, "I've been watching you. You would be perfect for the rebellion. You're an observer; we need someone who won't make hasty decisions. Join us," the man added ,his voice slipping into a hiss.
Hirsch blinked, unsure of what to do; he was trapped in the alley, with no where to go, and he could barely process what the man was talking about. "The rebellion?"
"We hunt Shifters; they are killers, Hirsch. You know your uncle? His death? A shifter did that." Most likely not true, but the man played with emotions for a living. He suffered no pain from playing with the ones of a young teen. Pain flashed across Hirsch's face and then, suddenly, rage. Intense rage that startled the man. It was as if Hirsch had turned into an animal himself...
Hirsch shook his head to clear his mind, rubbing his temples for a moment, "Are you ready?" he murmured, looking past the girl, but still speaking to her.

"Is that all?" Hirsch demanded shortly, pulling the ticket out of his pocket and examining it, his eyes narrowing slightly as his mind raced back to the past.
"What are you doing?" the young girl cried, her eyes wide with fear as her classmate approached. He had seen her, the night before, shifting, and Hirsch seemed animal like as he pulled the knife out of his pocket.
"I saw you, Sarah," he spat, "Pathetic little Shifter!"
Sarah's green eyes flashed with fear and she held out a hand, "Hirsch! Please!"
"Damn it!" Hirsch cursed before throwing the knife. It messed Sarah and she stared at it before looking at her schoolmate, who was positively shaking with anger. Her clothes burst and a snarling lioness stood in the female's place. It leapt at Hirsch and he ducked so that the lion hit the wall of the floor. He cursed before withdrawing a gun and firing the weapon. One bullet hit the lion in the shoulder and she screamed. The cat retaliated by clawing Hirsch's chest and he fired off another shot, this time in the animal's throat, so that Sarah's eyes bulged. She shifted as she fell.
Hirsch removed his bloody jacket, feeling nothing for the dead girl lying on the floor. He felt nothing for Shifters; nothing.
The man frowned slightly before abrutly turning away from Maria. He didn't like people seeing his emotions and he knew his eyes were swimming with them at the moment.

I know what you have gone through, and I am here to warn you that you will go through it again. And I wanted to tell you something also...... Her lower lip quivered. i wanted to tell you I was sorry.... Sorry for something I will do to you in the furture..... She let a tear slide from her eye and it melted away as it slid down her cheek to her chin and dropped to the floor. I must leave you now. I have already said to much that will possibly change the future. I should never have confronted you. and with that she was gone. She sped out the door and through the door you could see her running as fast as she could into the woods.
Maria had dreams like a few of her friends that predicted future events, but the bad thing was, she drempt, then she woke. If she had been hurt in the dream, or cute, she owould be bleeding when she woke. That's why she did not sleep as much as she used to. Because the dreams became bad. One night she fell asleep by accident and drepmt of what would happen in the future war.
She had had a private meeting with the council and asked them if she could somehow change the fact of the future events that she had seen only hours before that, but they only said one word then there was an awkward silence and she walked out with tears in her eyes. The one word, that made her have a change of heart. She could only change it by one way and that was something she, or one of her friends would have to afflict upon her before the battle started.
Death.

Surprise flared in Hirch's eyes and he turned to face Maria; he, of course, had no clue what she was talking about. His hand twitched towards his gun once more. Sorry...for what'd she do in the future? His brows pulled together; confusion bubbled up inside of Hirsch Beezle as Maria suddenly sped out of the door.
"What do you mean?"
The whispered words hung in the air, spoken too late for there to be any answer. Hirsch slowly made his way over to a vacant bench and sat down, face in his palms, lost in a sea of thoughts. No thought here was reassuring. Each one hit him like a wave, creating a hint of fear, sorrow, rage, confusion. Emotions Hirsch had tried so hard to tune out spilled over him again and again until he cursed and suddenly ,the gun was in his hand.
Screams filled the air as a shot rang out. Someone fell, bleeding. Dead. Hirsch pictured them as Sarah as he stood and ran; they would remember his face, they would look for him, but Hirsch was good at hiding. He ran in the opposite direction of Maria, not knownig where he was going, but only knowing that he had to go somewhere. He would send money to the hotel he was staying at later- it would be unwise to return now. Damn it! He cursed as his feet slappe against the pavement, echoing his words, his thoughts.
Damn it. Damn it. Damn!
