She pursed her lips and studied Hirsch for a moment before watching people move across the dance floor. Most of them with their partners; a few sad enough to dance alone. Hirsch himself had little interest in dancing- he wasn't that good at it, for one, and it just seemed like a great waste of time to the man. Why dance when you could chug a beer and make it so a guy owed your one thousand bucks, with you only putting out ten?
Annelise.
He liked the name.
Hirsch grinned lightly as he took her hand, shaking it once before dropping his own, "So, this would be your party then, I assume?" Hirsch questioned lightly. It'd be nice to talk to the actual...hostess of the party; slimmer chance of him getting kicked out on his ass, which was always embaressing.

Annelise watched the dance floor and said, "You assume correct then," as she smiled. She turned back around to the bar, sitting up straight, and took another sip of her drink.
"Tequila sur les rochers" She told the waitress at the bar. A couple minutes later the same girl brought back a drink from the kitchen. It was in a martini glass, but held something else. Something more exotic. Tequila.
Annelise took it from the waitress and took a sip of it then turned back around to the dance floor watching people make fools of them selves.
Annelise would not get drunk enough to get out there unless someone got her drunk. She had been drunk before but she wouldn't do it again. Maybe once or twice more, but who doesn't like a little fun? Everybody likes to have fun sometimes or another, right?

Hirsch grinned lightly before turning to the waitress himself, examining the bottles he could see through narrowed eyes. There was a beer- nice and simply, right? Or a rum and coke. Other hard drinks reminded Hirsch too much of his father. Nasty old man. He mumbled for her to bring him a beer before turning to Annelise, "Too classy to drink beer with the rest of us raggedy ass folks, eh?" he questioned, noticing the drink in her glass, though his tone was not serious, but light. He didn't give a damn what somebody drank, so long as they didn't expect him to pay for it.
She seemed to be watching the dance floor quite a bit. Hirsch frowned before gesturing out towards all the people, "I question a lot. But are these relatives or friends?" He asked.

"Not at all, I just tend to get drunk faster or beer then anything else. I don't know why, I am curious though." She smiled and laughed.
Annelise turned back to he bar facing away from the dance floor and replied to his question. "Friends, I have no living relatives...." She told him as she smiled. "But oh well, right? What are they good for anyway?" She asked him as she debated on getting up or staying there. She, sitting here, reminded her of her childhood: Something not to pleasent about her life. You would probably get the chills just thinking about it.
Annelise sat up straight and sighed as she took another drink of her drink then crossed one leg over the other. She faced the man and said, "So, what are you doing here? Want a place to sleep or something?" She looked into his eyes, seeing if he would lie or not, and also, trying to read his emotions. Some say that the eyes are a door to the soul, if one knows how to read it, then you can take an advantagel.

Well, this girl cut right to the chase huh? What could he say? Refusing would mean, most likely, sleeping in a cardboard box on the street with the other hobos that smelt like shit and piss. He did not wish to do so again.
"Myself, I don't associate with my relatives. We don't get along. I'm not quite sure if somebody recently died...should check the newspaper sometime...anyway...I chrash parties," he volunteered for his reason for being in this house. After all, he didn't know anybody here...when he had entered the house.
"As for a place to sleep, that'd be nice. Though I was hoping to get to that in a more casual matter. But what the hell! Might as well get it to the side right away," Hirsch grinned before taking a swig of his beer, absently drumming his fingers against the side.
