... ... ...Urggh... What the HELL!!??
Kaitlyn sat up quickly, nearly banging her head on the roof of her prison. Closer inspection revealed it to be mostly steel, with one side adorned with a small, barred window (if you could even call it that). Her cage had just been slid out of the truck, causing her to wake up.
Then she remembered.
Wolfy...
Wolfy, falling like a broken wax doll flung away by a child...lying dead...all her fault...
She wanted to curl her feline form up and die, to scream for help, to say sorry. She had just killed someone. Killed them. She retched, but just managed to avoid throwing up. She scrambled up, glowing eyes searching for the window again. She pressed her nose to the tiny space taking deep breaths of fresh air.
Voices sounded behind the box. One of the doctors, a burly man who had shouted when she had snarled at him. And someone different.
'...sure it's still asleep?'
'I haven't heard any noise. Now back to buisness. How much are you going to pay for the specimen?'
Horror drenched Kaitlyn as the other man reeled out a six-figure number, and the pair shook hands.
'Glad to be of service. Just out of curiousity, what were you planning to do with the thing?'
'Well, we'll start of with a few blood tests, then maybe ask her where we can find some of her friends...but that information is confidential. Thank you for your buisness, Doctor Stone.'
'No problem. Contact us if this one dosen't prove up to the job.'
Kaitlyn nearly threw up again. ask her where her friends are... Coming from this man, it probably wouldn't involve a nice cup of tea and a sit down. She felt like crying, but she supressed her tears. Ocelots can't cry, anyway.
One of their main disadvantages was they thought she was still asleep. If they opened the door, she might have a chance of escape. Her haunted green eyes stared at the door, hoping desparately the scientist was stupid enough to open the door and see if he had got his side of the deal without looking through the window. But that moment never came. Instead a jolt shook the cage, and salty air blew in through the window. The cage jolted again, and started swaying slightly to and fro.
They had boarded a ship.
Hopelessness overcame Kaitlyn. Wolfy was dead. She only knew a few other shapeshifters, and they had no idea where she was. Heck, even if they did knew, they didn't care. Amun might track her scent trail up here, if it didn't rain, but then what would he do? She felt sad about the thought of Amun. She hoped he wasn't too unhappy with her death.
She banged the sides of the cage and roared a long, drawn-out roar of misery, as a last attempt at life, hoping that someone, somewhere, would know she had gone.
Then she closed her eyes, and wept.
OOC: Sorry about that being so long, there was so much to say in it and I couldn't stop. lol Oh, and my muse was; Stand in The Rain, by Superchick. Listen to it, I ORDER YOU!! I love it
