The trees above cast long, deep shadows across the scruffy, almost unused path as Nat absent-mindedly walked along the gravelled surface. Why am I even here? he asked himself, casually looking around him. He fingered the ocelot carving, tracing each of it's long teeth as it snarled endlessly at nothing. He listened to the sounds of the forest for a while, wondering at it's endless vitality. This could go on forever... Suddenly, it all...stopped.
Nothing. Not even the sound of birds. Not even the sound of the wind whistling throught the pine leaves reached his ears.
The wind began to blow. A harsh, cold wintry gust that chilled your very soul.
There. There was something massive moving in the trees. Something dark and evil. With eyes.
Yellow eyes.
A wolf stepped into the clearing.
Nat's breath came hard and fast, the mosture in them freezing when it came into contact with the suddenly ice-cold air. His pupils became large and dialated with fear, and his irises became the burnished gold of his lion eyes. I'm going to die. He knew it before the he saw the deep ruby red of the wolves' staring eyes, knew before the rest of the pack shimmered out of the shadows. The pack that had followed him from the plains, into his heart and soul and mind, destroying what it touched. And now it was here. At his last refuge. And Nat stared into the face of Death, and prepared for the end.

Katelyn looked at the ground. She was out here to think. But that' when she heard the small howls of distant creatures. Then sudenly, the wind stopped then picked up. The air froze. And a chill was sent up her spine.
Katelyn looked aorund for the creature. She looked everywhere. None were spotted. She continued as if nothing happened, but she blinked her eyes. She could see in black, blue, and red now. She was blue along with other humans or shifters, but then animals or monsters were red and black was the ground with faint grey lines for geographical purposes. She had many ways to see things and this was one of them. She was gifted with sight.
Katelyn looked around and then spotted an area with seven red figures and one blue. She blinked again, restoring her vision back to regular and then took off running. She could run fast for her young age, but she was also clever and sly. She was likea fox, only she shifted into a white German Shepard.
Katleny came closer to the figures in the small woods clearing and then approached them. She clicked her tongue three times, inticing the other creatures. They backed up. These creatures weren't creatures at all. They were monsters. One of the worst of them: Lykans. They were like werewolves, but they were part something else.. Something that would be far to scary to tell you.
She clicked her tongue again and the, assumed, leader stood up on his back paws like a werewolf would do. She clicked her tongue again and then reached to her belt. She took her belt off slowly and then snapped it. It sparked blue and then turned into a sword.
It glowed with a brilliant silver-blue light color against the night time sky and forest. Katelyn held it right at chest hight for the Lycan. "What is your business here, Lycan?"She asked pointing the sword at him and the rest of his pack. There were seven of them. There was no way two people, one who was a fraid of wolves, take on seven Lycans at once. But one who merely suggested that had not met someone like Katelyn.

The-things-crowded Nathaniel, pushing his lion form up against the trunk of a pine tree, showering dust and pine needles down on his head. The lead wolf was about to strike when the suddenly backed up and turned around. The red-eyed monster reared up on his hind legs, almost human-like, but with a hunched back and an animal gait that looked on the edge of shifting into a crouch. Hi snarled at the person standing at the edge of the clearing where the wolves attacked, holding something that sparked with blue fire. The girl opened her mouth and said something, seeming to challenge the monstrosity. Nathaniel snapped back into reality, his claws extending as he rushed at the furry backs of the...werewolves? with afury, a bloodthirsty growl sounding deep within that exploded into a earth-shattering roar. The 'wolf turned, but it was too late. His claws raked down its side, and its scream of pain sounded dimly in his ears. He whirled around the clearing, lashing out with teeth and claws and hate... The hate grew. He could feel it building in him. He had to contain it, before it was too late. Suddenly he was trapped under the heavy paws of the lead wolf, its jaws snapping hungrily at his face. He shifted back into a human and screamed one last, desparate plea. 'Help!'

Katelyn repeated her question with her, now glowing only silver, sword cutting into the Lycan's neck. One forced move and he was dead. "What is your business here, Lycan?" She asked him again for a third time. The Lycan stepped back from the boy and howled for the rest of his group. They started to fall back. They retreated back from where they came from.
The lead Lycan stood up on his back two legs again and faced Katelyn. "He will rise again, you know that, Miss Katelyn, now don't you?" He asked titlting his head. "What I know and don't know is no business of your's. It is only mine and that is how it will remaid to be."
Katelyn had anger in her eyes as the Lycan adressed her by name.
She looked over to the shifter and asked him, under her breath, a question. "Are you okay?" She whispered, but then turned back towards the Lycan.
The Lycan looked like he was content and willing to talkright now, especially as Katelyn's sword dug deeper into his neck.

'Yeah, im fine. Don't worry 'bout me, no one ever does' he said, chestnut brown hair ruffled from the fight. He had meant to make it sound like a joke, but it came out sounding sad and slightly wistful. He inclined his head towars the werewolf. 'Please tell me what the hell that is, I like to know whose trying to kill me.' Another joke sounded out wrong.
The werewolf snarled as the blade dug into the fatty layer around his neck. 'You know the consequences of killing the Alpha of a pack, don't you, Miss Kaitlyn?' he whined, trembling with undiguised fear. 'I can't be responsible for their actions...' He grinned evily, smelling my presence for the first time. 'Look who we have here..' he growled softly, baring his yellowed teeth. 'The little lion who couldn't. Wolf got your tounge?' he queried, then burst into a series of short barks that sounded into manic laughter. Nat saw red. He drew his knife and pointed it at the wolf-like creature. 'Just give me a reason.' he said through clenched teeth.
